This paper presents a review of the book “Beyond Management. 100 parole per un manager umanista” by Alfredo Biffi, Giovanni Angelo Lodigiani, Grazia Mannozzi, Barbara Neri, and Simone Vender. The decision to review this recent publication is linked to the broad and interdisciplinary nature of its approach, which interprets contemporary work not only as an economic and productive dimension, but also as a space for the construction of personal identity and interpersonal relationships. Through one hundred key words, the volume encourages readers to move beyond a purely technical view of management, bringing the person back to the center of organizational contexts. Words thus become interpretative and design tools for guiding more aware and human-centered organizational practices. In this perspective, language plays a decisive role in shaping organizational cultures, behaviors, and relationships, making communication and emotions central elements of leadership. Drawing on the contributions of five authors with different backgrounds, the book proposes a vision of leadership based on listening, relational responsibility, and the recognition of employees’ uniqueness. It outlines a concept of management that combines efficiency and humanity, capable of addressing contemporary challenges without losing sight of the central role of human experience in work.
